Tuka Tuka 2017
3, 4 & 5 February 2017
2017 was the year that we returned to Zonnewende with its new building. The building was beautiful, light and the perfect place for that exciting African music melting pot that is Tuka Tuka.
We once again welcomed the crème de la crème of African music and dance teachers and the finest of African music lovers. Babara Bangoura was there to teach the far advanced group, Oké Sene was responsible for the advanced group and Eef took the beginners under his wing. Paul Nas hosted another Balafon workshop, while Paulus Kock did his Dunun thing and John Kayongo taught all these dancers their African moves.
New this year was Joris Feuillatre, the famous French Ngoni magician. He moulded a group of Ngoni afficinados into bewitching string artists. And the Tuka visitors? They were just wonderful. We only had to look at all these happy faces during the presentations on the last day to see all was right with the world…
Alright, ‘nuf said. No words but photos, so here it is: our photo album for the year 2017. If you have more photos and films that we can use on this page, please send them on.
